I am Tamra Avis, CCT, LMT.
I am a Certified Colon Therapist and Licensed Massage Therapist, and the founder of Avis Alternative Healing in Clarksville, Indiana.
I have been a massage therapist for over 40 years. This work has been my calling for most of my whole life. I trained at Advanced Therapeutic Massage Clinic and have spent decades refining my skills, expanding my knowledge, and showing up for the people who trust me with their care.
In 2006 I opened Avis Alternative Healing so I could build a practice that felt the way I always believed wellness care should feel. Holistic. Uncomplicated. Built around the person sitting across from me rather than a schedule or a system.
Before opening my practice, I spent years in healthcare as a medical coder. I understand how the medical world works. I also understand why so many people find themselves looking for something different. Someone that listens. Something that takes the whole person seriously.
That is what I built this practice to be.
What you can expect from me.
Forty years of working with bodies teaches you things no certification alone can. I have spent my career learning how people carry tension, where they hold stress, and what it takes to help someone feel genuinely better from the inside out.
I added colon hydrotherapy to my practice because I believed in what it could offer. Not because it was popular. Because I saw what it did for people and I wanted to be the one providing it with the level of care and expertise it deserves.
People who come to see me are nervous in the beginning, they often leave feeling like they made a friend. I have been told I have a way of making even the most unfamiliar experience feel manageable and even comfortable. That matters to me more than I can say.
My treatment room is clean. Noticeably clean. I use a professional closed system for all colon hydrotherapy sessions. I hold dual credentials as a Certified Colon Therapist and a Licensed Massage Therapist. Your experience with me is completely confidential.

Licensed Massage Therapist
Todd and Tamra share the same foundation. Both certified at Advanced Massage Therapeutics in Louisville, Kentucky, and both committed to the same standard of care that defines Avis Alternative Healing.
Todd has been a practicing Licensed Massage Therapist since 2016. He had the opportunity to train directly under Tamra, whose approach to therapeutic bodywork and genuine client care shaped how he works to this day.
